CJC-1295 Without DAC: Understanding the Modified GRF (1-29) Form
Tap to zoom
Key points
- Modified GRF (1-29) is a GHRH analog made without the Drug Affinity Complex (DAC) extension.
- Human data are short studies that measured hormone levels only.
- Not FDA-approved and not eligible for routine compounding; prohibited by WADA.
What it is
CJC-1295 is a family name. One version carries a Drug Affinity Complex (DAC), a chemical add-on that helps it stay in circulation longer. The 'no DAC' form is also called modified GRF (1-29) and is based on the first 29 amino acids of GHRH, with a weight around 3,368 daltons.
How researchers study it
It is used in growth-hormone-axis experiments and in side-by-side comparisons of DAC and no-DAC forms. The focus is on how the pituitary responds to a GHRH-type signal.
What the evidence shows
Human data are limited to short studies that tracked hormone levels. Hormone numbers on a lab report are not the same thing as a health outcome, so the evidence rating stays low.
Regulatory status
It is not FDA-approved for any use and is not eligible for routine compounding. The World Anti-Doping Agency prohibits it.
